Courses Search

Each semester, the degree-granting departments and programs at the University of Maryland list over one hundred and twenty-five undergraduate and graduate courses that deal with Africa and the African diaspora. In order to help students and advisors select among these courses, our staff maintains a searchable course database, which is updated once per term.

You may search the entire Courses database by using the Simple Search feature. Just enter the term that you are looking for and hit the Submit key. The search engine will look for matching word(s) in the course title, department, instructor, and description. Using the Advanced Search feature, you may limit your searching to a specific department, term, level, and CORE designation, or you may search solely on the course description or instructor's name.

If you are interested in viewing all courses archived in the database, click here.

All search results will include a direct link to the the Schedule of Classes, where you will find the most up-to-date information on prerequisites, scheduling, and seat availability.

Take note that the Driskell Center is a non-degree-granting research center in the College of Arts and Humanities. It does not "own" any course contained in the database.
